Stamping with acrylic stamps

I have been looking for alternative stamp pads to use instead of the expensive ones like Staz-on to use on clear acrylic stamps, guess what?, I didn't find any. Staz-on gives the clearest image so far for the cheap acrylic stamps. You can use Staz-on with a cheap acrylic stamp and get a clear and vibrant image even on textured cardstock. I guess because Staz-on is for stamping on plastic and other strange items, that the ink sticks to the clear acrylic better than other inks.

Acid free fabric paints!!

When I was crafting for valentines I looked for alternatives to using stickles and found scribbles instead. I had used dimensional fabric paints in the past so I dug out my old bottles. I also bought a glitter red. I emailed Duncan(maker of scribbles, tulip and polymark), and guess what, they said they were all acid free!!! I love making just dimensional dots on embellishments. So again, use what you have, check to see if its acid free and whallaa, cheaper alternative to expensive name brand scrapbook products.

$1 stamps!!

I am not a big stamper (yet) so I am starting with the $1 acrylic and wood block stamps they sell at Michaels. I am having so much fun the the donut/cupcake/ice cream sets!! I am just playing with them. I am going to have a stock of embellishments!!

Foam Tape

For small areas you want to raise, the cheapest thing I have found is the roll of 1/2 inch scotch foam tape, comes in a roll for around $6.50. I didn't really use it till recently and I have been using the same roll for a long time. You could use your coupon at Joanns or Michaels!!

Decoart products are Acid Free!!

WHHOOOHOOO!!

I emailed Decoart and asked them what products they have are acid free, they told me all their products are acid free. I intend on using their products to paint chipboard albums. This way you don't have to use much paper or worry about paying a ton of money for scrapbook paint!! (hint hint) Economical crafter.

Update: I called Plaid about their fabric dimensional paints because I like the dimensional effect, they told me the only products they make now (discontinued other scrapbook products, she said scrapbooking was tanking!!) is dimensional magic design for scrapbook pages.

Colorbok $1 chipboard album template

I just realized that no one has made a template for the $1 colorbok chipboard albums found in Michaels. The template is a little imprecise because the album is imprecise. If the template is rotated it wont match perfectly, so I intentionally made it a tad big bigger than the board itself. You can use the template in an image editor to use digital graphics to make your own paper, glue it to the board and trim the excess away, than sand it down. I will be making one of these in the next day or so. If you are interested in the heart or star album, I will make one of those too and post for sale.
